The Wayward School House Tutoring Co-op is a group of homeschooling parents based in Calaveras County that facilitate group tutoring, social activities, and field trips for kids. We are not an accredited school, private school, or charter school. Participating students will either need to be enrolled in a charter school of their choice or file a PSA with the state (private school affidavit).
Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:30am-2pm
Subjects of Study: Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies/History
Courses are taught by professional tutors in a group setting and fees include the cost of curriculum.
Grades: Kindergarten - 8th grade
Two Programs: K-3rd and 4th-8th
Tutoring Fee: $333 per student per month (reimbursable from Rio Valley/Granite Peak Charter)
Co-op Tuition Fee: $60 per student per month
Parent Co-op Responsibilities:
-Recess Duty: On campus supervision of a one hr. lunch recess several times a month, depending on rotation.
-Facility Cleaning: Clean the tutoring center on average 3 times per year.
-Attend semi-annual co-op meetings.
-Volunteer in the classroom as a tutor’s aide when possible.
-Hold one of the “School House Co-op Jobs” and perform job duties as described.
-Help with the annual Oktoberfest Dance and Mother’s Day Dessert Raffle fundraisers*
* If fundraiser doesn’t make amount required for program finance goals, other fundraisers may be required or remaining program costs will be split per family out of pocket.
